Wet n Wild Mega Last Lipstick 906D Wine Room Review and Swatches

Wet n Wild mega last lipsticks are their super pigmented semi-matte lipsticks that were launched last year. In this post I'm reviewing these lipsticks in general and swatch the shade 906D Wine Room.

This is how they look:

A part of the lipstick is outside the container which gives a clear view of the color through the clear top cap. I'm not sure how I like that since it's good we can see the color but every time I open the cap the lipstick gets smeared onto it by accident.

Below you can see how they look when opened. You can notice a smear of the lipstick on the top cap and most of these lipsticks come packaged with smears like this. They do come with a seal which I had removed so they were for sure not caused by customers testing them in the store. I think this was how they come out of the factory. The amount of lipstick you'll get is pretty good. I really liked the stick shape of the lipstick too.

Up close you can see that it's a nice peachy pink shade. These shades only come with numbers on their bottom with the sticker showing the shade color. I had to go to their website to get the shade name. The name must've been on the seal which I threw away.  The ingredients must've been on the wrapper too. Even if they weren't you can get all the details on their website.

These are my nude lips after I exfoliated:

This is the shade on me in day/natural light:

This is how it looks in night light:

I applied the lipstick generously and these lipsticks don't need more than 2 swipes. You can see it's very pigmented and it does provide great coverage even with a single swipe. They have a beautiful creamy semi-matte finish. The lipstick feels very light and smooth on lips and goes on very easily. It didn't settle into the cracks and lines, doesn't feather or bleed, and is not too cakey either no matter how many swipes you do. There is also a mild flowery scent which is not noticeable unless you put your nose close and smell it. After application, there was no scent at all. The shades are quite long-lasting and lasted on me for more than 6 hours. Even after the smooth texture wears off there is a heavy stain left behind which is difficult to get rid of unless you use a good dose of makeup remover.

Claims from their website wnwbeauty.com:
Lips take center stage! This 4-hour, longwearing lip color leaves a semi-matte, crème finish in one stroke. Glides on easily with rich, velvety color that doesn't cake, feather, or bleed. Made with hydrating skin-care ingredients: Hyaluronic Microspheres provide extraordinary adhesion to lips, an exclusive polymer complex offers cushion-like feel and texture, and natural marine plant extracts Coenzyme Q10 and Vitamins A & E help smooth lips.

I can vouch that the lipsticks do exactly as they claim to do on the website. If your lips are more on the very dry side then the best way is to apply them with lip balm.

There's a very good amount of lipstick which is 0.11 oz/3.3 gm. for the price of $1.99 at CVS. I got it in a sale for $1.50. They're available at CVS and Walgreens.

My final conclusions are that the mega last lipsticks are really pigmented and offer rich color and they definitely do what they claim to do and more, in a good way. For that price, I think minor issues like packaging can be ignored. Anyways it's the product that is important and not the packaging. You should never fall for useless gimmicky packaging that you have to pay high prices for and then throw in the dustbin after use. Honestly, I would love to see lipsticks in plain paper packaging.

This lipstick is probably my fave of all the five I bought and I would definitely recommend it to anybody who wants good coverage for their lips with long-lasting color. The shades do really put your lips on center stage like they say, as they are rich in color and the colors do pop out. So you might want to tone them down by blotting or lightly tinting your lips with them on top of a lip balm. I would repurchase these lipsticks, especially this particular shade.

I hope this helps you decide whether to buy them or not.

Some Recent Regret Buys

In my opinion, it's not ethical blogging if we're only featuring the good and not talking about some bad products because let's face it, there are a lot of crappy products out there. And when we're not talking about them we're withholding important information and we're not being fair to our readers. In fact, it means we're being fairer to brands. It's fine if people want to earn some money through brand deals but it's really not worth it to become a sell-out. Some might say why bother writing about bad products, why not just let them be, but I want to put the word out there about bad products too because I want to help people like me save some money. Please note that when I say "bad products" it means "products that have not worked for me". However, these products might have worked very well for some others because each of us has different skin types and tolerance for products and it's totally OK. In the past few months, I t...

April 2012 Favorites and Regrets

I can't believe April has already come to an end. I can't say I'm sorry either because this means less rain, more blossoms, and summer in another month.  So without further ado, I present to you this month's beauty and makeup favorites.  As you can see there are quite a few things I've been liking this month. The list of all things beauty I've been loving/using frequently are: (in left to right order) Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Spray Extreme Hold : This product is just wow. The windy city can be brutal to hair especially when left open and this product is really a blessing. It gives a good hold without adding too much cast to the hair. You can build it up and get stronger hold if that is what you need.  It's easy to use and smells great. It's not too expensive and comes in a huge bottle. Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner : I love this conditioner and this is a product worth repurchasing. I only wish they would put it in ...

I Got Influenced and Wasted my Money on These 15 Hyped Products

Influencer marketing has been there forever but with more online social media platforms it has become even more crazier since the 2010s. This type of marketing trend has its good sides as we get to know about a lot of things that are introduced into the market while sitting at home. So there is no worry of missing out on anything that is good. But it is also sometimes misleading/misinforming which can not only make us waste money on worthless products but also mistrust influencers as a whole.  This post is going to be only about beauty (skincare/haircare/makeup) products that I wasted my money on. It does not mean that I mistrust influencers or that I am not going to follow influencers anymore. I have also benefited in many ways from influencers so this is not a hateful post. I only want to convey through this post that it is important to use our own judgment and not blindly follow what somebody is recommending just because they seem likable, genuine, or convincing on camera....
