Himalaya Protein Shampoo Extra Moisturizing for Normal to Dry Hair Review

I bought this shampoo on my last trip to India as I was in a herbal phase and wanted to try something natural. I found this in a medical shop and decided to give it a try. I've never had any good experiences with Himalaya products before but this was only 55 Rs ($1) so I thought, what have I got to lose? I need a shampoo anyways so why not try this out?

The claims, and ingredients are clearly shown on the back of the bottle.

The shampoo is a shiny liquid runny in consistency. It's a peachy color and smells good but nothing too strong.

The packaging is average. The shampoo doesn't do much. Actually, I don't even feel clean after using it. It makes my hair very dry, and frizzy, and I experienced a slight amount of hair fall too. It's definitely not a moisturizing shampoo. And whenever I apply oil, the shampoo almost doesn't work at all. It barely cleans anything. For reference, I have a sensitive/oily scalp and dry ends. The shampoo does leave the hair smelling good for long but if I wanted to perfume my hair I'll use a hair spray, not a shampoo. I kept using it thinking that I might find results after using it for a few weeks but nothing changed. I completed the bottle a few days back but I'm never going to repurchase it. Like all other Himalaya products I used previously, this sucked too. I should have gone with my initial instinct.

If you're looking for something herbal and mild, that doesn't break the bank, you may try this. It's not the worst shampoo I've ever used but it just didn't do what it claimed as far as I'm concerned. Not for me.

Overall Rating: D

Some Recent Regret Buys

In my opinion, it's not ethical blogging if we're only featuring the good and not talking about some bad products because let's face it, there are a lot of crappy products out there. And when we're not talking about them we're withholding important information and we're not being fair to our readers. In fact, it means we're being fairer to brands. It's fine if people want to earn some money through brand deals but it's really not worth it to become a sell-out. Some might say why bother writing about bad products, why not just let them be, but I want to put the word out there about bad products too because I want to help people like me save some money. Please note that when I say "bad products" it means "products that have not worked for me". However, these products might have worked very well for some others because each of us has different skin types and tolerance for products and it's totally OK. In the past few months, I t...

April 2012 Favorites and Regrets

I can't believe April has already come to an end. I can't say I'm sorry either because this means less rain, more blossoms, and summer in another month.  So without further ado, I present to you this month's beauty and makeup favorites.  As you can see there are quite a few things I've been liking this month. The list of all things beauty I've been loving/using frequently are: (in left to right order) Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Spray Extreme Hold : This product is just wow. The windy city can be brutal to hair especially when left open and this product is really a blessing. It gives a good hold without adding too much cast to the hair. You can build it up and get stronger hold if that is what you need.  It's easy to use and smells great. It's not too expensive and comes in a huge bottle. Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner : I love this conditioner and this is a product worth repurchasing. I only wish they would put it in ...

10 Popular Perfumes/Mists With The Same Scent DNA As Baccarat Rouge 540

Baccarat Rouge 540 was launched in 2016 by the famous perfumer Maison Francis Kurkdjian. Since then it has reached a whole new level of popularity when it comes to perfumes, especially on social media. But since it is a very expensive perfume there are a lot of people like me, who cannot justify spending so much on a perfume, and who are looking for something similar that costs less. On the other hand brands that grasp the popularity also come up with perfumes that are inspired by the OG. People refer to these as dupes or smell-a-likes. It's basically a win win situation for everyone. I am personally not crazy about the scent profile that BR540 belongs to but since it is so hyped I wanted to try it out for myself. So I went to the store several times and tested it on the paper strips, on my clothes, and on my skin. And after several tries I decided that it is not really for me. It's a little too spicy and woody for my tastes. And since it is so expensive it's also not some...
