Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works Semi-Annual Sale/Haul + Mini Reviews

I think everybody and their cat knows by now that Victoria's Secret and Bath & Body Works are having their semi-annual sales going on. I'm not sure how long they're going on as there is no mention of the end date on either of the websites or the stores. For now, it is still on.

There is no way I can miss a good sale when I see one. And 50% to 75% off is THE sale that no bargain lover would miss. But I also want to stress here that just because it is on sale I did not just mindlessly go and buy a bunch of stuff I do not need. I only got stuff that I really did need to re-stock. Here's everything I got from these sales in-store.

I have to admit that not all the stuff I got is for me alone so you might not find this haul interesting. I got 8 items in total from both stores; 4 for me, 2 for my husband, 1 to gift someone, and 1 was free.

So the list of things I got for me:
- Bath & Body Works Fragrance Mist Be Enchanted (75% off, original $12.50): I love this fragrance mist. It is strong like perfume and lasts pretty long, especially when I spray on my clothes which is what I do mostly. It is fruity, sweet, and musky. It is literally everything I like in a fragrance.
- Bath & Body Works Lavender Salve ($3, original $5.50): I've been using this as a nighttime lip balm. It is very soothing and moisturizing. I also tried it as an ointment after I had irritated lips and it really calmed and healed lips. This is a keeper.
- Bath & Body Works Hand Sanitizer in vanilla berry sorbet (5 for $5, 1 for $1.50): OMG! This hand sanitizer smells so good. I've been getting compliments from people around me every time I use it. They should release this as a fragrance.
- Victoria's Secret Fragrance Mist Pure Seduction ($2, original $4): This is another love of mine. It is a sweet fruity floral fragrance that smells a lot like some kind of fruit punch. It is strong like a perfume and it always gets me compliments.

The list of things I got for my husband/others:
- Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Body Wash Ocean ($4, not on sale): It is a very fresh aquatic kind of fragrance. I am not a big fan but the husband likes it so I guess it was worth it.
- Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Cologne Citron ($29.50, not on sale): This is again a fresh and clean-smelling scent. The husband was really in need of a new cologne and he's been using it without complaints so I guess it was not a total waste.
- Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Cologne C. O. Bigelow Barber ($19.50, not on sale): Another fresh and musky cologne that he wants to give as a gift to his brother.
- Bath & Body Works Signature Collection Body Lotion Twilight Woods (Free with the above cologne): I ended up using this body lotion more than my husband. Love the smell, it feels like a very complex/mature scent that is woody, floral, fruity, and sweet. The scent really lasts long too.

Bath & Body Works also had a $10 off of your $40 purchase sale going on. There were big tubs of lots of full-sized lotions, body washes, and fragrance mists for $3 and 50-75% off. Victoria's Secret had lots of fragrances on great deals too. Did any of you get anything from this sale? Let me know in the comments below.

Some Recent Regret Buys

In my opinion, it's not ethical blogging if we're only featuring the good and not talking about some bad products because let's face it, there are a lot of crappy products out there. And when we're not talking about them we're withholding important information and we're not being fair to our readers. In fact, it means we're being fairer to brands. It's fine if people want to earn some money through brand deals but it's really not worth it to become a sell-out. Some might say why bother writing about bad products, why not just let them be, but I want to put the word out there about bad products too because I want to help people like me save some money. Please note that when I say "bad products" it means "products that have not worked for me". However, these products might have worked very well for some others because each of us has different skin types and tolerance for products and it's totally OK. In the past few months, I t...

April 2012 Favorites and Regrets

I can't believe April has already come to an end. I can't say I'm sorry either because this means less rain, more blossoms, and summer in another month.  So without further ado, I present to you this month's beauty and makeup favorites.  As you can see there are quite a few things I've been liking this month. The list of all things beauty I've been loving/using frequently are: (in left to right order) Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Spray Extreme Hold : This product is just wow. The windy city can be brutal to hair especially when left open and this product is really a blessing. It gives a good hold without adding too much cast to the hair. You can build it up and get stronger hold if that is what you need.  It's easy to use and smells great. It's not too expensive and comes in a huge bottle. Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner : I love this conditioner and this is a product worth repurchasing. I only wish they would put it in ...

I Got Influenced and Wasted my Money on These 15 Hyped Products

Influencer marketing has been there forever but with more online social media platforms it has become even more crazier since the 2010s. This type of marketing trend has its good sides as we get to know about a lot of things that are introduced into the market while sitting at home. So there is no worry of missing out on anything that is good. But it is also sometimes misleading/misinforming which can not only make us waste money on worthless products but also mistrust influencers as a whole.  This post is going to be only about beauty (skincare/haircare/makeup) products that I wasted my money on. It does not mean that I mistrust influencers or that I am not going to follow influencers anymore. I have also benefited in many ways from influencers so this is not a hateful post. I only want to convey through this post that it is important to use our own judgment and not blindly follow what somebody is recommending just because they seem likable, genuine, or convincing on camera....
