Tag: This or That

I have recently seen bloggers doing the "this or that" tag so I thought I'd try it out as well. This is the first tag post on my blog, hope you guys like it.

MAKEUP
Blush or Bronzer: Blush because I just don't understand the purpose of Bronzer and neither do I know how to use it.
Lip gloss or Lipstick: Lipgloss since I find most lipsticks to be drying, and just too intense for my liking. I also never seem to have good luck with lipstick shades. It's very difficult to find something that suits my skin tone.
Eyeliner or Mascara: Mascara on a daily basis, but when I am going for a festive look then I do like using black or colored eyeliners.
Foundation or Concealer: Foundation in light coverage and pressed-powder form. I never experimented much with liquid foundation but the odd couple or so times I did, I found them to be quite drying. I never use concealer because I find it too thick and intense.
Neutral or Color Eye Shadow: I really tried hard but I just can't figure out using eyeshadows so I would mostly go for single Neutral eyeshadows that I can just blend with my fingers for an easy natural look. I just use one single eyeshadow on both my eyelids and that's it.
Pressed or Loose Eye Shadows: Definitely Pressed since loose powders/eyeshadows could get messy.
Brushes or Sponges: Fingers, if I cannot blend a product easily with my fingers I am not buying it. I do not even like investing in makeup let alone makeup tools like brushes, sponges, and whatnot.

NAILS
Long or Short: Short, I'm not a great fan of long nails.
Acrylic or Natural: Natural. I rarely go to the salon for anything. I just don't have the time or money for that.
Neutrals or Pastels: Both, it depends.

BODY
Perfume or Body Mist: Perfume because most body mists are weak and alcoholic smelling. There are a few mists you can find that are strong, last long and not too alcoholic but it is rare.
Lotion or Body Butter: Body butter for winters and lotion for summers.
Body Wash or Soap: I religiously use and love my Dove soap ever since I discovered it's moisturizing benefits last year. But I am contemplating getting into body washes especially during peak winters.
Lush or other bath company: The Body Shop

HAIR
Curly or Straight: I have naturally wavy hair so though I would prefer straight hair, it requires damaging styling with straightening tools so I'll pick Curly.
Bun or Ponytail: Both. Ponytail when I am going to work and Bun when I am at home. For going out casually I like to leave it open.
Hair spray or Gel: Neither since I do not like the stiff cast that they give to my hair. I like my hair to be soft/smooth and easily pass through a comb. But when it's windy outside and I want to leave my hair open I use strong hold hair spray to keep it in place.
Long or Short: Both, depending on my mood and how hectic my schedule is. When I'm really busy I like to keep it shoulder length but when I have more time to spare for hair care then I try and grow it out.

RANDOM
Rain or Shine: Shine, who loves rain really, we can't go out or do anything.
Summer or Winter: I like snowfall but only for maybe a few days, 6 months of snowfall is no fun so I'll pick Summer.
Chocolate or Vanilla: Chocolate, I don't know how vanilla is even a flavor, it just tastes like sweetened cream to me. But if it is fragrances, I like both.

So that's the entire tag. Phew! it was tiring. I hope you had fun reading it. Now it's your turn, I tag YOU, yes whoever is reading this, consider yourself tagged. If you have a blog, just blog it and send me a link to your post, or you can just do it in the comments section below, that way we can get to know more about each other.

Some Recent Regret Buys

In my opinion, it's not ethical blogging if we're only featuring the good and not talking about some bad products because let's face it, there are a lot of crappy products out there. And when we're not talking about them we're withholding important information and we're not being fair to our readers. In fact, it means we're being fairer to brands. It's fine if people want to earn some money through brand deals but it's really not worth it to become a sell-out. Some might say why bother writing about bad products, why not just let them be, but I want to put the word out there about bad products too because I want to help people like me save some money. Please note that when I say "bad products" it means "products that have not worked for me". However, these products might have worked very well for some others because each of us has different skin types and tolerance for products and it's totally OK. In the past few months, I t...

April 2012 Favorites and Regrets

I can't believe April has already come to an end. I can't say I'm sorry either because this means less rain, more blossoms, and summer in another month.  So without further ado, I present to you this month's beauty and makeup favorites.  As you can see there are quite a few things I've been liking this month. The list of all things beauty I've been loving/using frequently are: (in left to right order) Aussie Instant Freeze Hair Spray Extreme Hold : This product is just wow. The windy city can be brutal to hair especially when left open and this product is really a blessing. It gives a good hold without adding too much cast to the hair. You can build it up and get stronger hold if that is what you need.  It's easy to use and smells great. It's not too expensive and comes in a huge bottle. Clairol Herbal Essences Hydralicious Reconditioning Conditioner : I love this conditioner and this is a product worth repurchasing. I only wish they would put it in ...

3 Easy Ways To Diagnose Insulin Resistance

Disclaimer : I am not a healthcare professional but I am a patient who struggles with insulin resistance. This information is based on the knowledge I acquired after seeking help/guidance from various healthcare providers/professionals, and from my own expereinces. Insulin resistance is a condition where the cells in our body become less sensitive to insulin, the hormone that regulates blood sugar. Detecting insulin resistance involves assessing various factors. Here are some ways to evaluate it: BLOOD TESTS Important : These tests should be performed by healthcare professionals. If you suspect insulin resistance, it's crucial to consult with a doctor for proper diagnosis and treatment. - Fasting Blood Sugar (FBS): Measures blood sugar levels after an 8-hour fast. Normal FBS levels are typically between 70 to 99 mg/dL - Glucose Tolerance Test (OGTT): Evaluates blood sugar levels at baseline and 2 hours after consuming a sugary drink. - Random Blood Sugar (RBS): Assesses blood sugar...
